What happened to Qualls and Son Novelties, the business that made the original Peg Game for Cracker Barrel?

I, Andrea (Qualls) Kraft, along with my husband Alex Kraft, were the 3rd generation owners of Qualls and Son Novelties, Incorporated that created the iconic peg game along with other novelty items and display furniture since Cracker Barrel opened 56 years ago. Cracker Barrel used our family's business and once rich history with them to promote their business, making them seem as if they cared about long-standing vendor relationships and the American small business and family.

Over the course of the past few years, Cracker Barrel slowly and steadily ran us out of business with consistently delayed payments. In February of this year, Cracker Barrel notified us that they had taken our game to another company who now gets their new knockoff games made overseas. They told us that our game was irrelevant and slightly offensive. Cracker Barrel has recently made a public statement that we couldn't keep up with their supply, completely neglecting the part of the story where they weren't paying us on delivery, as they agreed.

When they pulled their business from us, we had to sell all of our equipment at auction to avoid going bankrupt. Qualls and Son Novelties, Inc has unfortunately had to close it's doors, symbolizing the end of an era for us; and seemingly for Cracker Barrel as well.

This new business, Qualls and Kraft Novelties, is named after both sides of our family and is both a tribute and hard-fought attempt at keeping my family's hard work, tradition, and legacy alive.

All of this considered, we are committed to providing strictly American made products, to make sure we are taking care of our own.

All profit made from the 100% American Legacy Tee and any other novelty items goes to supporting the Kraft family as well as (re) building this new business.
